“This is a quaint almost like a boarding house but very VERY far from Acadia. The hour plus drive was torture on really bad roads and locals doing 85 on 45 roads with twists and curves. Really tough at night and coming back from the park. Do not book if you want proximity to Bar Harbor. The breakfast is overpriced and the serving staff overwhelmed. “Carol and Carl thought of everything! The inn was an old Victorian, thoughtfully decorated in Victorian charm. It had two veranda‘s which my husband and I enjoyed sitting on. Our room,the Emerald room, had a separate door that took us right out to the rear veranda where we ate breakfast, had picnic lunches, and beverages at night. “We planned an Aug '26 trip to Maine months in advance from Florida. Expedia or the rental Mgr requires a credit card to hold the room. Our schedule changed in May '26, so I cancelled the room. On Friday evening 8/7, we get a call from the Mgr wondering where we are. We relayed that we canceled the booking months ago. We were still charged for the nights' stay. This is a fraudulent charge & no way to run a business. Be careful if you have to use your cc to hold a room, then have to cancel.”
