“Great cabin right in the middle of Eastern U.P. which allows easy travel to other great tourist areas in any direction. We went NW to Munising, north to Grand Marais, NE to Tahquamenon Falls, SE to Mackinaw, and SW to Manistique. Cabin came fully stocked with what we needed, included games and movies, and had a nice pond that really added to the peaceful environment.”

“This is a nice, modern, cozy cabin which is close to everything Munising has to offer. It is tucked away in a little clearing down a dirt road so you get the experience of being away from it all in the woods while remaining close enough to the sites. The stars at night were beautiful. The owners are absolutely wonderful. The caretaker was very kind and baked us cookies. The beds are comfortable, and the water pressure is good. The stairs to the loft are steep with low clearance, so best suited...

“Our visit worked out exactly as hoped, giving us the perfect central location to get to Oswald’s Bear Ranch, Pictured Rocks, Kitch-iti Kipi , Tahquamenon Falls, and Benny the Beard Fisher. A few things to keep in mind though when you choose this property: the upstairs bedroom is an open loft (without a door for privacy), evening dining on the rear deck has a lovely view but is subject to loud road noise, and if you have someone sleeping on the pullouts in the living room it is quite comfortable...

“My wife and I just got back from our stay at the cabin. Perfect size for us and cozy. Fantastic view of the lake. Cabin was very well furnished, supplied and excellently maintained. Plenty to do there with the private kayaks and town was just a short trip down the road.”

“This was our second time staying at the Log Cabin Retreat (2018 with friends, 2025 with family). The cabin has a great location close to the trails and Pictured Rocks. It was well appointed with everything we needed, and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone. ”

“We had a wonderful time at your secluded cabin. It was such an awesome little lake ,so clear we watched turtles and fish. Enjoyed kayaking, swimming, bonfires and watching sunsets. Took hikes on trails and picked blueberries. Amenities should be updated to say bring own linens and towels as they are not provided. Owner did contact us few days before our stay to inform us. Hope to be able to return again in future. ”

“A lovely, small cottage on the lake that was a perfect launch point for various sight seeing adventures. Wonderful to sit out on the patio and enjoy the lake breeze, and Lake Superior is around a 5 min walk from the cottage! One thing to note : GPS will send you up the hill, which is not where it is located. Cottages are right on the lake where the road up the hill t's into the main road - there are signs as well, but if arriving at night they will be hard to see. All in all a wonderful time!”
