If you’re looking for a world-class JW Marriott experience, this may not be the place. Our stay was a mixed experience, with some clear highlights and some notable disappointments.
The good:
The location is excellent, easy to walk around, convenient access to public transportation, and simple to get an Uber. It’s close to shopping and the Design Plaza, which was a big plus. The breakfast spread is great, with lots of variety and options. I also really enjoyed the gym and pool facilities, and I had a massage at the spa which I highly recommend. The staff, especially the doormen, were friendly and welcoming.
The not-so-good:
The property feels old and dated, and the rooms clearly show signs of aging. Our headboard had stains, and the shower had brown stains/mold, which was disappointing for a JW Marriott. We arrived at night and received no assistance with our luggage, despite there being two people at reception. We also tried the buffet dinner one evening, which was underwhelming — cold food and no refills. That said, the duty manager Amy handled the situation well and provided good service once we raised these concerns.
Overall, the location and amenities are strong, but the hotel would greatly benefit from a major refresh to truly meet JW Marriott standards.
