Bra boende i öknen
Detta var en anläggning vi tyckte bra om. Härligt läge i öknen, fräscha "rum", men man behöver ta sig till en syster-lodge ca 5 minuter bort för att äta.

Komfortables Camp unweit des Eingangs zum Sossusvlei Die einzelnen Chalets sind groß und gut ausgestattet. Wer keine Lust auf Selbstversorgung hat kann Halbpension in der Sossusvlei Lodge buchen. Das Essen dort ist hervorragend; die Lodge ist allerdings sehr groß und Anlaufpunkt für viele internationale Touristen.

Traumhafte Lage mit super ausgestatteten Häuschen. Desert Cam, der Name ist Programm. Der Pool ist wirklich Luxus aber toll. Das Personal sehr zuvorkommend. Eine nette Bar ist vorhanden. Das zubuchbare Essen in der Sossusvlei Lodge ist hervorragend und sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Desert Camp in Sesriem hat durch den Abriss der alten Zelte und den kompletten Neubau zwar an doppelter Größe dazu gewonnen, dafür aber auch deutlich an Komfort. Meine per Email geäußerten Zimmerwünsche wunschgemäß umgesetzt. Sehr gut!

Die Unterkunft liegt nah am Eingang des Namib-Naukluft-Nationalparks. Personal sehr freundlich, WLAN kann man im Bar/Poolbereich nutzen. Die Unterkunft ist sauber und gepflegt. An der Rezeption kann man sich eine Kiste mit Kochzubehör besorgen, so dass man sich selbst verpflegen kann.

Peace and tranquility.
Spectacular views and comfortable beds. Outside cooking and bbq area. Pool by the bar and ice cold beer. 5 minutes from gate to Sossusvlei. Of the two camps, this is the one with better views.

Die Lage macht den Unterschied
Die Lage ist wunderbar. Die Häuschen super und auch ganz toll das Bad und WC. Leider wurde nicht geputzt. Das ganze Haus und Terrasse waren voll mit Sand. Ansonsten einfach herrlich. Man bezahlt hier ganz klar für die Lage

Super gelegen und nur 5 min in den Nationalpark
Das Camp war schön und es war ein schöner Ausblick. Wir sind auf den nahegelegenen Berg geklettert gegangen ca 150 Meter entfernt und von dort aus war der perfekte Ausblick.

Excellent value. Staff were very helpful. Please note that although I haven’t given the highest grades for cleanliness or condition, I have given grades that are the next highest level and one has to recognize that this is due to the location being alongside a desert/dune area where sand blows in the wind and thus it would be virtually impossible to expect a higher score in such circumstances. I really enjoyed this stay; you are on the edge of the desert and feel at one with the surroundings,

Great location, very close to the park entrance (4 km). Food options were great but you’ll need to drive to the other resort for their restaurant which is close to park entrance.

This property was in the middle of the desert and had amazing views. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The accomodation itself was very basic and not in any way fitting with the price tag. Beds were old and in need of replacing. Floor was very dirty. Accomodation close by was much better.

Enjoyed it
Great self catering option in the area. Good service, clean place, air conditioning in the desert. Really enjoyed the braii and that you could pre-order food to be delivered to your room for cooking. Made meals perfect. Only improvement I could say is to bridge the beds together a little better. We stayed at several other places that joined the two mattresses much more seamlessly. At least have one duvet/linens when joining them for couples.

La proximité avec l’entrée du parc à Sesriem. Le chalet était parfait et le lieu magique, le coucher et le lever du soleil fantastique. Le seul point un peu moins positif est le dîner et le Petit déjeuner qu’on doit prendre dans le lodge à côté ( 3 km) même si on a super bien mangé, c’etait une grosse structure.

Will be a perfect locaties in a few months (end 201@). Now still a lot of construction work. But these construction works do not avoid that our stay was perfect, thanks to the very friendly people of Desert Camp.

The mountain view from each chalet’s porch area is amazing! There is a lighted waterhole for oryx viewing. Each chalet has it’s own outdoor kitchenette with hotplate, BBQ, utensils: BYO food or order a cookout basket. The property is well situated to visit Sossusvlei.

Terrible reception upon arrival and bad service by the small bar attendant, and even by the manager who did not seem interested in how you were. Nobody available to ask a question of or to get help of any kind. Nobody seemed to care about the guest’s well being, so basically you’re on your own in the isolated and remote desert for the hefty cost of $139 US dollars per night.

In general self-catering establishments like our Desert Camp are booked by independent travelers who specifically prefer doing their own thing and the atmosphere in such a Camp is naturally more relaxed. The majority of our guests are self-sufficient and spend their day as they please. We do however have a Receptionist and Manager on duty from 06 AM until 10 PM, and a bar lady from 2PM until 10 PM, to assist our guests with any enquiries they might have and to keep an eye on everyone. It is not entirely fair to claim that you are left all alone in an isolated Desert when it seems you actually met (and did not like) all of our staff during your stay with us. We apologise that you found our staff unhelpful and your comments have been discussed with our team. It is also understandable that self-catering accommodation might not be your cup of tea and in future you might want to give our Sossusvlei Lodge a try. Best wishes, The Desert Camp Team

Hotel excelente, muito confortável. Tem uma cozinha completa o que é ótimo pois a área é bastante isolada e o hotel não tem restaurante. O wi-fi só pega no bar.

Camp with beautiful views of the mountains
Nice self catering accommodation with newly built units. The camp is near the entrance to the park and it is linked to the nearby Sossusvley Lodge. There is a small pool in the complex and each unit has a small kitchen with sufficient utensils to prepare BBQ meals. The uncooked food can be ordered at good prices from a list available at reception. The internet works only in the bar and pool area. The view from the units is fantastic and they are well spaced. We enjoyed our stay at this camp and the staff was very courteous
