“If you’re looking for an authentic tatami mat stay with easy access to great food and local experiences - and don’t mind sharing a bathroom with other guests - we highly recommend this place! Our young kids absolutely loved it and said it was their favorite stay of the trip. As early risers, we enjoyed morning walks to Lawsons for coffee and snacks before heading out for the day. We were able to walk easily to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest multiple times, as well as Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple and...

“Modern hotel with old Japan touches. Loved the yakata robes and tatami mat floors. Most comfy Japanese hotel bed ever.
The cafe that serves breakfast below was amazing and I loved the quiet location in Arashiyama. It was an easy 15 minute walk to the river.”

“Very convenient hotel as it is located right across the train station. It's at the very top of a mall/shopping building. Has an adjoining parking garage. Parking is not free for hotel guests. They will validate your parking ticket for ¥1000. Buffet was good, variety was ok. Its not a very large dining area but the turnaround is quick. Highlight would have to be the the small onsite spa/onsen. It's on the top most floor, not large but has everything you need. I would go for a quick soak after a...
