“We chose the property for its central location as we had family coming together from all over the state. What a wonderful bit of luck to find this place. It was clean, well stocked with the basic supplies needed for our week. Plenty of space for us all, beds comfy, rooms cosy.A small problem with the heating was quickly addressed by the hosts and we were cosy and warm throughout the week.The views from the veranda were spectacular with many creatures to see. We even saw 2 wedge tailed eagles...

“We loved our stay at Lakeside Retreat - perfect location, clean, very comfortable and spacious, very well equipped kitchen and we felt quite "at home" in the house. Fiona and Richard are great hosts and easy to communicate with, check-in/out is very easy & there is no need to fuss with keys etc! “Overall the place was nice for a tiny home. It was a bit disappointing that there was a property so close to the accomodation. This was not mentioned at the time of booking. I would also suggest to the owner to put the Jiffy fire lighters outside as the accomodation smelt like fuel when we arrived. Some of the electrics were not working as well. Be prepared to cut up all of your firewood into tiny slithers as that is all that you will manage to fit into the fireplace. All in all a pretty...

“I was hesitant about booking this place due to some bad reviews regarding dogs. After being stuck in my car for 25 minutes due to an aggressive dog not letting me out of the vehicle, I was right to question whether this place was right for me. ”

“Ideal spot! Beautiful clean property”

“Great property.. enough space for 3 couples and 4 children. Pool was excellent, two fridges was handy for us, house was well equipped with everything we needed. Loved the view of the river from the house and enjoyed a few drinks and food on the table and chairs under the shady trees.. beautiful countryside. Close to Melbourne but feels like you’re far away! (In a good way!) The owners were responsive and able to help with anything we needed. Highly recommend. Thanks for the stay. ”
