Large inground pool with tanning ledge separate bunkhouse, hot tub fire pit and fire table two large gazebos and separate gym. The lake portion is across the street and offers a large 100 foot dock. You are a direct neighbor to the Masons store to grab anything you forgot and right across from Masons public beach. Kitchen features a large island full freezer and fridge and eight burner stove, two dishwashers, wine and drink fridge. Cabin feel with shiplapped ceilings, the bowling alley table refurbished from an old bowling alley in Vancouver. Charming features with a rope wrapped pillars and a coffee table that was found in India as the roof to an old carriage meant for royalty, repurposed wood shelving and features taken from the property and an abundance of charm. Large family room with a nest couch and large smart tv perfect for lounging around. Outside is a completely self contained bunk house with kitchenette queen bed double pull out and bathroom with walk in shower. Outside a large hot tub, barrel rolled sauna and massive beach inspired fire pit area. For the summer months only there is a large heated pool and gym building with weights and a treadmill. Please confirm prior to booking if these will be available or wanted during your stay.. POOL AND GYM ARE OPERATIONAL FROM MAY 15 - SEPT 15. FLEXIBILITY CAN BE MADE ON THESE DATES WITH PRIOR CONVERSATION - IF YOU WANT THE POOL HEATED THERE MAY BE A HEATING CHARGE DEPENDING ON THE TIME OF YEAR AND HOW HOT YOU WANT IT. PLEASE REACH OUT WITH ANY QUESTIONS.

Nice facilities, pool was great. Cleanliness was an issue. We found bits of bacon under the sofas in the main room along with all sorts of dust and dirt which we vacuumed up. The grease under the range hood was considerable and we wiped that clean as best we could. We had some issues with plumbing and the septic field backing up and overflowing into the showers downstairs. Host had to get a plumber who said that bacon grease had clogged the drains and for us not to put bacon grease into the plumbing. We have stayed at many summer properties as a family and are VERY familiar with septic fields and how delicate they are and would NEVER dump bacon grease into any septic system, ever. The downstairs bedrooms were not air conditioned at were hot at night. We were requested to leave by 10AM (the listing said 11AM) which was a little uncomfortable for the gang. That said, the place was well laid out and amenities like the little gym, contained outdoor area, hot tub, and pool were great. Lots of dishes and plates and the LARGE refrigerator freezers were awesome. The view was nice, there was a little road noise with the odd harley going by but was generally not an issue. Having the little store so close was handy. Having two dishwashers was very useful!! Overall stay was good but would suggest a deep clean of the place. -Russell Kennedy, MD

Shawnigan Lake stay

This property had everything for a great stay - location, pool, sauna , hot tub, media room. It was clean and very well stocked. The property manager was lovely and responded to messages promptly! We can't wait to come back!

Everything you need

It was a great place to stay with kids of all ages. The pool was awesome for smaller kids and the pool deck was a nice play to hang out. We didn’t have the best weather so the heated pool was a life saver as was the super comfy den downstairs. Thanks for a great stay, would definitely come back

Perfect Summer Spot

Perfect stay for our return to Vancouver Island. There were so many thoughtfully curated areas to rest and relax. Our favourite spot was the beautiful lighted fire pit at night. The children loved swimming in the pool and the loungers were the perfect place for the adults to unwind and take summer in. The house was very well stocked with dishes and towels. And the access to lake with dock provided us with great memories.

Great family trip

Our extended family of 9 had a great time staying here - lots of bedrooms, generous kitchen and dining area, the pool and hot tub were a hit every day, great TV room for movies and videogames for the older kids, younger kids had a great time at the beach across the street. The house is really nice. Just a really great spot for a getaway to Shawnigan.

So many amenities, it was great! Wood burning sauna was awesome, the gym and pool were also great! The lake was fun too! We brought our boat, and lots of fish in the lake too! We had a great time!

Great place for making memories!

We fully enjoyed the accommodations. The owner was very prompt and responsive to the couple of issues we had. Unfortunately the housecleaners were met withpoor tenets prior to our stay and missed a couple things but nothing major.

Great spot to gather not far from Victoria.

Our family really enjoyed our stay here and its proximity to Victoria allowed us to host an Easter gathering with extended family. We appreciated the location and the added amenities such as hot tub, gym, and 4 kayaks. (Would be nice if the local bike shop would make bike rentals available - that was the only thing missing.) Very nicely decorated. The road out front is busy, but we were having too much fun to notice. Host was quick to respond to questions/issues. Thank you! P.S. The ad didn't mention it, but the cupboards/fridge had a good variety of spices/condiments, so wait to shop for any of that until after you arrive.

A Fantastic Getaway at Shawnighan Lake

Our family lives on Vancouver Island and we have been doing local getaways for a week or so the last several years. This year we decided to try Shawnigan Lake area and we were not disappointed. The place is well equipped for large groups including a commercial size fridge and freezer, a large cooking area and large dining table. There is also plenty of room for large families both upstairs in the main area and downstairs in the den/theatre room. The theatre room has a huge TV and feels like your at the movies. The place also has a hot tub, wood fired sauna, pool, gym and private dock across the road. Everything was clean, organized and felt very welcoming. Also very cool furniture that are conversation pieces. We absolutely loved the place and it's the best place we've stayed at to date. Can't recommend enough. Thanks again April for making it a great stay.

Amazing location and amenities

Beautiful newly reno’d house with EVERY possible amenity. Extremely well stocked and highly responsive hosts. Amazing location across from a public beach and a private dock (complete with seating and four kayaks). Next door to bakery/convenience store and near a “rail trail” walking path into little town area (less than 10 minutes on foot). Quality furnishings and so much to do - the pool was fantastic for kids (heated with shallow, medium and deep levels) and the hot tub was great in the evenings. We didn’t even find the time to use the fire pit or the sauna, but the younger kids enjoyed the sand area and the adults got a couple workouts in at the little gym by the pool. The nearby (10 min drive) trestle walk was also a hit. Great family vacation spot!

Fantastic views!

We had an absolute blast at this home, everything we needed was a short walk away, beach was across the street and the views just make this place even better. We spent most of our days at property in the pool. The host was very effective in her communication. It was perfect for for our size of family. Would love to come back next year.

Spectacular property!! Private resort feel at cozy family home!

We stayed here as a multi-generational family. Everyone was comfortable and had a really great time. The property is stunning. There is a clear view of the lake from the main living area and kitchen and the outdoor pool and patio. It feels like you are at your own private resort. Coffee at the fire table overlooking the lake in the mornings. Pool in the heat of the afternoon. Hot tub in the evening. Lunch at the large outdoor table. Dinner at the large indoor table. We had 8 people and tons of space. The highlight of the day was sitting around the fire pit under the string lights - the sand and natural wall feature made it feel as though you were sitting on a forested beach. We could not use the sauna due to a fire ban however it was still cozy to sit in and enjoy that sauna vibe. Having access to the kayaks and dock added that ‘at-the-lake’ feel. We didn’t swim in the lake but it would have been a short walk to access the public beach. We also enjoyed the block rocker music system - great sound and portable. House was well-stocked with plenty of dishes and two dishwashers - we never ran out of anything. Overall, the property has been well thought out and designed for relaxation and fun. Hosts were responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend this property!!!

Amazing place!!! 💕

We had a wonderful stay at this place. It is super clean with beautiful furniture. The house is well equipped with everything we needed….and more! The beds were very comfortable. We truly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The location of the property is great with a view of the lake and wonderful hiking places close by. It feels very private as you don’t see any neighbor when using the patio. April and David were super helpful and were always answering our questions promptly. I highly recommend this place. It is a gem!!!
