Great location - Worst hotel experience yet!
I've stayed in 100 hotels in China, this one took the prize for the worst in almost every category. The hotel looked nice on the website, with a perfect location right by the train station, but my stay was filled by nothing but disappointments; 1. I arrived late and it was almost impossible to find the hotel, because it was so run down it looked nothing like the picture, and the English sign on the building used a (completely) different name than on the booking confirmation. 2. None of the staff spoke any English and were very unhelpful even in Chinese (my Mandarin isn't fantastic but ok after a couple of years here). 3. The room was very filthy, had loose wallpaper and big water damage stains all over the walls and it smelled of bug spray and mold (I had to sleep with the windown open). 4. Although the room was spacious, it did not keep the promise in the ad. The minibar that once was there was missing, and there was no tub as promised. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here under any circumstances. I have stayed in 5 hotels in similar price range in Shenzhen that were clean, comfortable and had welcoming staff - so there are plenty of better options.
