“We came to do some biking in the area. I was concerned we had booked too far from Lanesboro, but it was perfect. The drive is beautiful from there Houston has a really nice bike trail, too! We visited several towns in the area and this home was a great place to come back to each day. We stayed our trip at the Houston Visitor Center, since we got to town early. “The house and land are amazing. The woods are filled with native plants and flowers with miles of hiking trails. The house is vintage and comfortable for modern living. The yard is open and has several comfortable seating areas including hammocks and a firepit. The animals are gentle and friendly for kids to interact with. The owners are friendly, helpful, and love their job as hosts! This is our second visit and we will be returning as often as we can!”

“The location was perfect. The house was cute and cozy. The bedrooms were comfortable. The space for 10 people was awesome. The only issue was it was warm outside and somehow the boxelder bugs were getting into the house. I would stay here again if in cannon falls.”

The owners put a ton of work into modernizing the house into a fully functional house with all the amenities while keeping the charm of the original home. The highlight has to be outside. “Dan was super nice and accommodating. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel, look elsewhere. It you want a large, clean farmhouse, this place is for you. Being a working family farm, expect to see a tractor or two going in and out. We really enjoyed sitting on the wrap around porch with a book watching the cows. “Great stay for the second year, disappointed that the hot tub still isnt working. It wasn't working last year either. Rooms are clean, staff is helpful and friendly and you can't beat the proximity to the Mayo Civic Center and shops. ”
