“I like the concept of the virtual lobby, except for when the access code stopped working and no one was on site. I don’t have a U.S. phone number, so calling for help was very expensive, but I had no choice.
The property itself is modern and generally well-maintained, but the cleaning staff tends to slack off. They don’t clean the corners of the floors, leave hair in the shower, and don’t properly clean the toilet and the sink.

“I can't understand why this place has so many good reviews? It's an ok hotel, not more than that. Room was small, bathroom was small. Glad I didn't bring a suitcase, would have been difficult to place it anywhere that wouldn't be in the way. Shower took forever to get warm water and with just a simple shower curtain the entire bathroom floor got wet. Only a small window, which couldn't be kept open and couldn't be locked.

“Great property! Never felt unsafe when walking from my event and back. It was very close to the event, so that helped, too. There were lots of dining options around. The room was cute! I was on the first floor, so didn’t really have a normal window situation, but was still able to get air flow if I wanted. Pipes were a little loud but nothing too unreasonable. Staff was very accommodating on check in when my flight was delayed. I was able to keep them updated through a text and they responded...

"Ett boende som fungerar utmärkt för en natt mellan två flygresor. Så nära terminalen att vi promenerade till hotellet, medan vi tog shutteln tillbaka. Shutteln gick så ofta att det bara var att kliva på direkt efter utcheckning.
Bekväma sängar och stort nog för två personer. Hade man varit fyra hade det känts trångt. Rent och bekväma sängar. En underlig skjutdörr till badrummet som känsliga personer möjligen kan känna sig obekväma med.

"Hotellets läge är bra. Trevligt hotell. Tyvärr var poolen stängd de fem dagar vi var där. Fick ingen information om det vid incheckningen vilket var synd då vi främst bokade hotellet för poolen. "Really nice hotel but can’t really see why anyone would like to stay in this part of LA unless your doing business in downtown or have friends to visit there like I had. Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. I felt completely safe though on hotel premises, in my single room I had a safe for my valuables and during day time it is of course safe to walk around on the streets nearby but of course keep out/away from the Skid Row area with all the tents. The homeless people are nice and I never felt threatened but look ahead where you are going on the streets and don’t look down into your phone.
Single room with a skyview at almost the top but a 13 floor building won’t give so much skyview at all in downtown LA.
Some reviewers here have praised the shower, I looked into my shower and thought that’s just a regular shower head but OMG that water pressure was superb!
So I am still recommending this hotel for anyone having a purpose to visit downtown LA (not just random touristing of LA) or a romantic getaway where you want to stay in and old fashioned hotel, enjoy the rooftop bar and going by taxi to a restaurant at the evening when it is dark outside (avoid walking when it is dark!).
The tiles in the bathrooms of my single room was really beautiful and the bed just perfect.
So this hotel can’t do much about its surroundings but the historic elevators could get some more love by hotel management.
