Terrible experience. Called early about a late check in, after checking in on the Marriott app because for some reason j was not granted a digital key. They said this particular hotel does not allow digital keys until you come to front with id. I asked if it would be a problem to come in late as I expected to be between 12-1 am. They said no problem. I get in around 12:30 and lo and behold they cannot apparently make keys after 12. Was told if I want to go in and out of room or hotel they need to escort us. I have never had this type of experience. Also now cannot do the digital key either. It was annoying and limiting and made getting the luggage up to the room a hassle. Also had requested an extra towel and to be on the first floor third. We had no extra towel and were on the third floor. Could not find parking in the lot so was told to park next door in a sister property lot. Luckily was not towed. This was a nicely renovated property, but everything administrative was a miserable experience. Even the attitude of the person working was terrible. “Well there is no manger until tomorrow so you have no choice”. That is customer disservice at its finest. I am really not sure what is happening to the Marriott brand. This stay was a terrible customer experience. My previous stay at another location had similar service but was in shambles. I think this might be the end of my brand loyalty to Marriott. Really just gone downhill.
