“The Kress was an amazing surprise for my wife and I during a quick overnighter to meet up with some old childhood friends. I grew up in this area and the downtown district had been forgotten. It was great to see this place back to life. The Kress has done an excellent job restoring this old department store. The rooms are incredible with large common space and bedrooms. I wished we had booked an extra night. ”

“The parking lot was dark area was horrible didnt even stay kept driving. Homeless people wandering did not feel safe as I was traveling solo”

“Overall very good experience. This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. Clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price. The breakfast is pretty basic and no real amenities (there is an outdoor pool) but for the price can’t beat it. ”

“We were put in a handicap room and we did not request this. Our lights did not work and the staff just said it’s the only room we have. No apology or request to address the issue. My husband had to find the breaker and trip the switch for lights and he also had to attach the toilet seat! The worst hotel experience I have ever had! ”

“The breakfast was cooked to order and it was amazing. We had a mishap and our server fixed it immediately. The rooms were clean and our housekeeper was very nice not giving a hassle for needing extra towels and rags. My kids enjoyed the indoor pool, it was clean and they even had pool towels that could be used. ”

“I really like this cute little place, but a couple of things could’ve been better, especially for the price. The small single cup coffee maker did not work and the walk-in shower was not clean. Luckily I bring cleaning wipes everywhere I go. I wasn’t a fan of the design of the shower as it had half a glass shower door, but nothing else. Other than that, the staff was really nice and answered all of our questions. Breakfast was delicious also.”

“The room was clean. The only thing I didn't understand is why they do not put garbage bags in the cans. Other than that I had no problems at all”

“Pool was closed. Room was good except for noisy group outside until 2 am. Convenient location. Food on-site was very average. ”

“The floor was "swepted" but was not clean. I thought the bathroom doorknob was on backwards, but then I realized the door was removed and rehung upside down. The pillows were very thin. THE shower was good, very generous with the hot water, the a/c worked well and the staff was nice. Overall, I really wasn't impressed.”

“The whole place needs a face lift--carpet in my room and hallways was filthy and the pool deck cracked and needs repair as well as cleaning. Someone had left clothes in the closet. The breakfast was fine and the lady working that area very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the staff very nice.”
