âIf you use a wheelchair make sure you state this when booking. Accessible suites are only available on the 2nd floor and the lift does not go to the third floor. We were on the third so we had some steps to use and drag the chair up. An access ramp is at the side of the building but, if you cannot do stairs, you have to wheel through the outside bar patio in the front, into the back of the bar, through the restaurant and out into the lobby. âMy husband and I are Swedes in our mid twenties, and we went to Portsmouth for a weekend getaway. Next time we go to Portsmouth, we will definitely stay at The Clarence again. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was very nice, and being Swedes we really care about the breakfast quality. Try the salmon egg muffin, you won't be disappointed!â
