“We had a lovely time at Hemlock Haven! We spent several days mining for Herkimer diamonds and the cabin was an excellent place to relax after spending the day outside. It is fairly quiet, cozy, and pretty easy to drive to. The hosts had a few extra touches to make it even more welcoming. Definitely recommend for a little R&R!!”

“My cousin and i enjoyed our stay. Very clean, comfortable beds, very well stocked kitchen. The front stairs were quite daunting! Getting to the front door with our bags took great effort. It did not diminish our enjoyment of the space but i would caution seniors (like us!) And anyone else with mobility or balance issues.”

A short half-mile walk to trail heads leading to a tent site, lean-to, and lakes. Don't forget chairs to enjoy the campfire, a flashlight in case the lantern provided runs out of battery, and indoor entertainment (board games, DVDs to play on the TV in the bedroom, cards, etc) if reading isn't your idea of a way to pass some time indoors. “House is in a nice location. The pictures were photoshopped on the listing to make the wood appear to be a more modern wood tone than it actually is. Not a huge deal but definitely something I noticed upon arrival. The bath towels provided by the house were bleach stained. No AC in bedrooms. Plant overgrowth on back deck. Ice maker doesnt work in freezer. Minor issues that could be addressed to provide a nicer experience for guests. Overall the house was not bad and we had a nice stay, but not 5...
