“A lovely cottage full of character. Perfect location to Halls Gap only a 5 minute walk away. Large front yard with a fire pit, the cottage set back from the main road so it is very quiet. So many small details to help the stay more comfortable. Caters to family stays with lots of books and games for all ages. Heating was great with wood heater, inverter, and wall heaters.”

“Even though it was cold outside we were cosy and warm at the Miners Rest property. Had a great meal at the Brix Hotel round the corner a short stroll away. The bed was lovely and the decor was beautiful.”

“This pretty cottage was perfect for our family Easter weekend with plenty of living space, three cosy bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen and a sunny outdoor veranda. Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and there are three reverse cycle air conditioners as well as a wood fireplace which would be nice in the cooler weather. Would definitely book again.”

“Overall well appointed house with everything that we needed for a group of people to stay and close to all the attractions and amenities of Halls Gap. Great to have two showers and toilets for everyone. The only let down was that the two bunk beds are somewhat flimsy and moved a lot whenever either occupant shifted which led to some poor nights sleep in those.”

“We (a group of 10) stayed 3 nights. When we booked the accomodation back last year there was only 1 review of 5 stars on Stayz so our expectations were high, especially for the price. Prior to our trip, subsequent reviews (on other sites) were posted which lowered our expectations somewhat. Overall, we agreed with the most recent reviewers that the house is very clean and Kerry the caretaker communicated well. The size of the house is large and spacious. The negatives are quite extensive...

“Clean, comfortable well equipped house, close to town. Not as isolated as the photos suggest, but good aspect over national park. Kangaroos everywhere and abundant birdlife. House is a large weatherboard with bare boards through the open plan living area. We did not try the wood fire, rather we relied on the aircon. However be aware if coming in the cooler weather that the house is very chilly and the aircon does struggle in the morning. Otherwise happy with the property.”

“Well-kept house in a great location, far enough out of the centre of Halls Gap to give space and be out of the business, but close enough to walk or ride in. House has kitchen, washing machine, large lounge area. Only downsides are bedroom layout (mentioned in the listing though) and a tight driveway.”
