“Excellent stay! The cottage is not large, but enough for two average families or one large one. Everything is spotless, everything working. The kitchen and living room area is spacious, two large tables, comfortable chairs etc. Bedrooms are comfortable and equipped with enough storage.The host takes care of providing all small necessities, from the paper towels to the shower gel/shampoo etc. The only thing we could not find was the vegetable peeler, so we bought one and successfully forgotten it...

“Everything was top notch! Super clean and well appointed with a spectacular view over Mallets Bay, this was a wonderful place to have as a home base while exploring the area. Check in was a breeze and the hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. The spiral staircase down to the lower level bedroom may be a challenge for those with limited mobility but we had no problems with it. The bedroom on the main floor is easily accessed. “This was our second year staying at the Big Yellow Camp. Another wonderful week. The check in process was easy, the owners are always available and very helpful. The house has so much character, it feels like home. We enjoyed the space and were very comfortable with 12 adults and three kids age 6 months - 4 years old. You cannot beat the view and beach access! ”

“We loved the location. It was so nice to be right on the beach and it is your own private beach. As a bonus there was a nice bucket of beach toys the kids really loved. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking supplies one would need. There are puzzles and games, mega blocks for little kids. The home is on a private road but if walking/running or bike riding you can easily access the bike path in Colchester. The house is definitely rustic, but we got that from the photos and expected it...
