“We really enjoyed this quiet green oasis in Mendenhall Valley. Our favorite part was being right next to the Brotherhood Bridge Trail -- you really do walk right over that tiny bridge in the picture, and are right on the trails. Our toddler loved exploring tiny paths through the woods, as well as the very quiet neighborhood playground that was only a minute's walk through the trees. We loved enjoying our coffee on the porch. “Quarters are pretty tiny. Bathroom doesn't have room for a sink. But one has everything that one needs except an ice cube tray. I substituted muffin cups. Everything in working order and neat and clean. Very close to downtown Sitka. I am uncertain I would try to squeeze two people. The single bed looks that there is a trundle underneath but I did not try to see how that works. ”

“This was the perfect getaway to truly disconnect from civilization for a while. A truly unique experience. The house is perfectly located on the waterfront with a view of the water in the mountains, with whales and seals swimming past. Our host took great care of us, including picking us up at the dock. There are some good local hiking, just watch out for the bears. Food and groceries are available, though limited. Everything is walkable, and there is beauty all around.”
