“I was overall happy with my stay at the Fairmont FKL, with one very important exception (listed under cons below). Pros: Close to the gondola, has a nice spa and decent gym. Mostly friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Okay level of cleanliness. Cons: Rooms do NOT look like they do in the hotel photos, they are dated and in need of a renovation. Rooms also have no AC which was almost unbearable during hot summer days. The worst con of them all is, however, that I was contacted after my stay because...

Problem: the headboard for the bed was elaborate with a recess at the top of the bed which would have worked great for an old-style mattress height but the mattress was elevated, resulting in bonking your head if using the full mattress length or, as we did, sliding lower on the mattress to prevent head injury. I guess u you ou could also wear a helmet to bed. So a nice place to stay, just don’t pick the apartment we were in. Sorry I forget it’s name. Cheers. ”

“We stayed in the Black Canyon cabin. It was very clean and spacious. The guy in the office was very helpful. It was a great combination of rustic and modern for a girl who doesn’t like camping. It had everything you need, running water, heat, a refrigerator with lots of trees around. I would recommend it to friends. ”
