The exterior appearance makes it look abandoned. We even passed it to see if maybe the actual place was a little farther down the road; nope.
My companion put on a brave face and entered the check-in door while I went for gas. When I returned, she was smiling, and I felt some relief.
The woman at the front desk was very nice, and directed us to our room past the old dry swimming...
“Hotel was dirty. Room was not cleaned the entire stay and we had to ask for towels. Furniture and walls chipped and broken. Toilet was sitting on shims. The cement areas were foul as they were not clean and the ice machine was filthy. Phones did not work.Don’t stay here. Not worth it.”
“This room was designed with real travelers in mind. Everything you wanted, where you wanted it. One of the best places we have stayed on this trip, and the LEAST expensive. And real Route 66 charm and history, too.”
“Upon arrival and enter the room, blankets on bed had burn holes a non smoking room smelled terrible like cigs smoke. The tub had a huge crack in it. The toilet was clogged. Overall very poor and horrible experience during stay.
Not to mention people outside the room talking loudly all night long.”
