“Fabulous staff, all very young and friendly also very helpful, keen to make you feel welcome. The rooms are gorgeous and clean. Quirky old building, up a few flights of stairs, it does have a lift which could use a bit of maintenance!. Definitely recommend.”

“Philo Hotel is a small family-owned budget hotel situated on the third floor in a depilated but beautiful architecture apartment block in central downtown Cairo, close to Tahrir square. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My room was clean and spacious, equipped with a hard but still comfortable double bed, tv (Arabic channels only), private shower, balcony, and two large windows facing the street. But since the hotel is situated in an old apartment and the furniture may have seen its best...

“Highly recommend but makes sure you get the room you want. Expedia lists a private bath on one of their garden rooms, but it does not have the private bath. It must say private bath on the confirmation from the hotel.”

“Staff kind and polite. Picture from terass in Hotels.com so bad. Wasnt even any terass set on. Only much birds in small cage and Dirty. We have familyroom for 5. Was ok and comfort bed. Elevator terrible.. roof in almost fall down. But for the money downtown in Kairo its ok. Can think for be back sure. But please fix terass so guest can stay little there.
