“The Butchers shop was a great place to stay to see and do lots on the Forgotten Highway. Close to the famous pub, it was clean cosy and very comfortable. Great place to stay!”

“A great affordable holiday for our family of 6. Evan is a friendly host. We particularly enjoyed the walk through the bush around the little lake. Inside the house, the fire is warm, the shower is a good pressure and we had all we needed. It does get cold overnight though so keep the fire going. My only issue would be the squeaky red bunks - one needs tightening up as it’s a bit wobbly. Other than that, thanks for the memories!”

“Easy self check in. Kitchen is extremely well equipped for cooking and baking plus air fryer and slow cooker and rice cooker. Great communal areas including outdoor areas which were usable in the bright winter days we were blessed with. Good showers one upstairs bathroom and one downstairs bathroom. Bunk room is downstairs and rest of the bedrooms are upstairs. Light and Bright decor. Great comfy pillows. Many gorgeous wool blankets. We didn’t end up using the wood burner but there was...

“We stayed here for just one night on our way to Taupo, but honestly, we wish we had stayed longer! The place was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The view was absolutely beautiful, so peaceful and calming.It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into making the space welcoming and well-equipped. We really appreciated the quiet surroundings.This was the perfect stopover, and we’ll definitely be booking again next time for more than just one night!”
