“Owner greeted me by name as I walked into the hotel. Beautifully maintained!! And the breakfast was first class! My only concern is that I was not able to leave a tip with my credit card… excellent accommodations, service and food! Will highly recommend it!”

“Absolutely loved my stay here. The personal experience of the staff made it feel as if we were long lost friends. Lots of travel advice- that we happily took and adjusted our travel itineraries. It was wonderful to learn the history and how this amazing place came to be in Texas - not New England ! Wow - can’t wait to head back”

“This beautiful historic B&B was a joy to stay at. The breakfast was so delicious and had a great variety of items to choose from. I was especially impressed that with son with allergies to nuts, soy and dairy was able to eat the breakfast!”

“My husband and I loved our stay at the Carr Mansion! This historical home was charming, clean, and comfortable. Joellyn was a fabulous host; she served delicious breakfast and offered several tips/ recommendations for activities around the island. The location of the home is near to several other historical landmarks/ museums, the Strand, and the Seawall. We highly recommend booking a stay at the Carr Mansion for a relaxing trip with a home-like feel that typical hotels just can’t match. We will...

“This establishment was by far one of the nicest places I have ever stayed... It felt more like renting a house than being at a hotel... Mostly because we were the only people there due to bad weather. The property is very remote, with a 15 to 30 minute drive to go to Walmart or dinner. (A lot of places close at 9:00 p.m., so get there early.)
The property was very quiet in the morning, which allowed for spending time outside and enjoying nature... Especially from the enclosed deck.
