“We had an awesome experience. The staff was super nice and knowledgeable. The tent was top notch. Loved everything about the place. ”

“The room had a very mountain feel. Very nice decor. Only issue was that both beds felt like sleeping in a bowl. Maybe broken in the middle? Besides the bed the room was very nice. Restaurant was also very good and reasonably priced. ”

“Hotel staff was so pleasant. Room was great. Newly renovated. Construction is outside, which at first worried us driving in, but it did not cause any problems. Walked down to the trail and tasted the fresh spring water. If you want to go to the fresh spring spa near by, make sure you book an appointment for a soak in advance. Disappointed we didn’t because we then couldn’t get a time that worked for us. ”

“Loved location, scenic nature views, could even see the side of Mount Rushmore in the distance. Room was perfect, clean, comfortable. Breakfast options were good. Only Interacted with front desk staff and breakfast staff but they were great. Best place to stay in the area cause it’s set apart from the main tourist strip yet so close. If we go back, I would definitely stay here again. ”

“We attended a wedding on this property and we had higher expectations for the hotel considering the high price. The area is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The price is exorbitant considering the condition of the hotel and the tv's have limited channels and were NOT High Definition, just like the old days. The food in the dining room was not worth the price tag. ”

“Canyon Lake Resort is rather old, but well taken care of. Clean and comfortable I've visited quite a few dodgy hotels around the US where ones have let the interiors deteriorate, this was certainly not the case here even though some of the furniture could do with an upgrade. The rice was rather steep for our visit, in July 2018, but other hotels in the area were even more expensive.”

I thought we were heading to a single story easy access vacation home in the hills, and what we rented was a house with a walk up basement with a very steep and narrow staircase, the outside stairs to the front door, had no railing making it super difficult for my elderly family member to maneuver.
