Hotell nära The Devil's Porridge

“I usually stay at Hetland Hall because it is located a bit off and it is quiet. This time though, not so much! There was a wedding reception (on a Tuesday) and I was for some reason given a room just over the ballroom. Extremely loud music until the middle of the night made sleeping impossible. I wasn't informed that there was a party that night and I can't understand why I wasn't given a room in some other part of the hotel. Simply unacceptable.”

“Ett stiligt, mysigt hotell med gamla anor. Låg väldigt centralt. Vi hade lite svårt att hitta dit trots googlemaps. Hade behövts några skyltar i de smala gatorna.Mycket trevlig personal, fantastisk frukostbuffé och mysiga, gammeldags rum.”

“The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...

“Radiators in the room must have been for decoration, there was no heating on a freezing cold night, owners must have known this because on arrival we were handed a tiny fan heater, which made little difference in a big room. Toilet wasnt clean, bathroom light didnt work initially, towels weren't provided until I went to reception and asked for them, bed was uncomfortable. Genuinely glad I didn't pay a huge amount for the room because it is one of the worst stays I've had. Only 2 stars instead of...

“Hotellet ligger mycket bra till vid tågstationen, men trots det centrala läget är det lugnt och tyst. Hotellet har säkert varit ett förtjusande vackert hotell med är lite bedagat nu, med en rejäl renovering skulle det kunna bli stans bästa. Restaurangen har mycket trevligt på menyn, men fisken var torr och inte vad jag förväntat! mig, men å andra sidan så finns det inte mycket att välja på i Carlisle. Frukosten är ok och vistelsen är prisvärd.”
