It is a private suite which is very clean & spacious with bathroom, WiFi & a good sized TV. It’s located on property very close to Crystal Mtn. It has a lovely covered private patio for relaxing.The host lives on site in main house & is kind & gracious & a great source of information about the surrounding area & history. Alfred provides a delicious breakfast and good company is available in the hosts dining room which looks out to the birds enjoying the feeder off the back deck.When I first read all of the exemplary reviews of this place, I was hesitant to believe it was the quality place people claimed. It seemed to good to be true but I took the chance & am so glad I did. The stay was delightful!Breakfasts were wholesome & made with care & the host couldn’t have been more helpful.

Excellent

We had a wonderful stay at Alfred’s place. Super cozy and easy to get to, very close to Crystal Mt Resort. We were in town for a wedding there and this was perfect for our needs. Breakfast hosted by Alfred was the highlight of the trip, his hospitality was first class!

Property was beautiful and Al was just the nicest host! He was able to help if we needed anything and recommended a hiking trail, which we ended up seeing - Michigan's Grand Canyon! I would stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a quiet little vacation up north!

Clean and comfortable

Alfred was a gracious host, very responsive and welcoming. There were two spacious rooms, one a bedroom the other a living space. Very clean and comfortable. The pictures accurately depict the space. Within driving distance of many amazing Michigan destinations. Would stay here again.

We stayed in three different places over a week and Al's place was by far the most comfortable. He's an extremely gracious host who asked about and looked after our every need. I'd recommend him to anyone thinking of staying in the area.

A Hidden Gem!

We felt very lucky to stay with Alfred at his very cute, and comfortable B&B! The pictures just don’t do this hidden gem justice! Alfred is such a wonderful host making sure we were comfortable and that we didn’t need anything. He’s very knowledgeable about the area and its history which we love to hear about! Alfred is a wonderful personable gentleman. We left feeling like we made a new friend. The bed and living room armchairs were perfect and the large bathroom was great! We put to use the refrigerator and microwave and were very happy to have them. The location is centrally located to many things and destinations but especially Crystal Mountain, 2 minutes away.! So this is the perfect place to relax after hiking golfing or skiing or for letting the kiddies safely run around the acreage but still within sight. We absolutely loved the spacious property with the privacy. There’s even frisbee golf on the property that I had a hard time walking away from! Thank you and hope to see you again soon, Alfred! July in Michigan

My wife & I escaped the Florida extreme summer heat by traveling to Michigan We were fortunate to discover Al's place. A spacious country home with all the amenities. comfortable, quiet and close to Crystal Mtn Country Club. A 30 min drive to Sleeping Bear Nat'l Lakeshore. Our month long stay was a pleasure. Al was a great host and attended our every need. We hope to return next year.

Lake Michigan Adventure

Host was super accommodating, location was a short distance to the dunes, Frankfort and especially the Art hike at Crystal Mountain. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a cheese and meat tray, and Alfred was eager to do whatever he could to make our stay pleasant. Even though he no longer makes pie, the upgrade from small apartment B&B to the whole house with a kitchen was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was not included, but he offered to make breakfast for $15 each if we wanted. We made our own, it was great.

Weekend getaway

Our host was very welcoming and gracious. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was neat, clean, and very cozy with the gas burning stove! We would definitely return and recommend this B&B.

Wonderful 4 Day Winter Getaway

My husband and I had such a nice vacation! Alfred was watching for us when we arrived, to familiarize us with the room and welcome us with wine and a cheese/meat platter. Staying at his home was a perfect way to enjoy Crystal Mt and the beautiful area. He took care of everything and even had a sand truck come out right away when the driveway iced over. We were able to start out each day with a full, yummy breakfast. Besides skiing and enjoying the spa at Crystal, we had the Friday fish fry at Geno’s in Thompsonville and went to Traverse City one day. Our stay was beyond expectations and we feel fortunate to have found this awesome B&B and to have gotten to know Alfred. We hope to return for another stay! P.S. He makes wonderful pie!

Perfect serene location

So close to so many things : crystal Mt , Frankfort, Arcadia, traverse, mission peninsula. Alfred was as he said our personal Butler for our stay He fixed fabulous breakfasts and catered to our every need . On arrival a bottle of wine was waiting for us . Just perfect . Thank you Alfred for this 5 star stay !

First time B & B stay…..won’t be our last!

Our host went out of his way to make sure every detail of our stay surpassed our expectations. The lower suite was spacious; comfortable and immaculate! We had apprehensions staying at a B& B prior to our visit. Thanks to Alfred and his hospitality, we will seek out this option in our future travels and look forward to revisiting this property!

Exceptionally clean, very welcoming host

We stayed at this property several years ago and were so impressed we decided to return this year while in that area. Alfred is a very gracious host, anything you want or need he will make sure you have it, from the bottle of wine upon arrival, a delicious breakfast to his homemade pie. Alfred makes sure that everything is spotless. If you choose to stay here I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful Location & host

This is a amazing place & fantastic host. We were so comfortable in the suite. Spotless ! Everything you need to be comfortable is provided. Our favorite was being able to visit with Alfred in the morning for his breakfasts & then again in the evening by the fire pit. He has lots of space outside so very safe in these trying times. He was such a delight to talk to. Gave us ideas on what to do & enjoyed our days following his advice. Most host just check you in then check you out. Not Alfred , he is truly a people person & made us feel very comfortable while still giving us the privacy. This is a favorite place of ours now & can't wait to go back. Hopefully in the Fall as the area is beautiful. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this place definitely deserves more stars!

Best place to stay in Michigan

The property was amazing. The pictures online did not give it enough credit. First - we had an entire apartment with a private entrance and deck. The bathroom was huge and all rooms were wonderful. Living room had comfy chairs and tables and TV for relaxations . Alfred is just amazing- he really is a wonderful host. We arrived late because of a cancelled flight. He immediately helped out & provided a nourishing breakfast for our entire family . Also awaiting was wine & snacks to pick on. The wine was so wonderful- we purchased another bottle to bring home. The grounds are huge and so private. It was so nice and quiet that I slept wonderful. The bed was super soft and just the entire atmosphere made us feel like we were home. We almost had a car rental crisis- and again Alfred stepped in and solved our problem. And take all his suggestions on restaurants and hikes and anything to do. He will give great advice. Everywhere he sent us was fantastic. There was not one negative part of our entire trip. He is such a delightful person to talk to. Great environment for any single couple or family. He really made our trip special.

Simply wonderful!

What a lovely B and B. Alfred is a gracious host and his breakfasts are delicious and the morning conversation was a great way to start our day. Alfred has vast knowledge of the area/history and gave us good ideas for restaurants and site seeing. Our rooms were comfy, cozy and spic and span. Just off M-115 so the location was a good start off point for the day’s adventures but quiet and peaceful to return to at the end of the day. All the amenities you want. We highly recommend Alfred’s location and his hospitality is second to none.

Great Hospitality in Peaceful Setting

We absolutely loved our stay at Alfred's Bed and Breakfast! You could not ask for better, friendlier and warmer hospitality. Alfred is a great host - to say nothing of great cook for home-cooked breakfasts - even homemade Cherry pies in season! The accommodations were clean, neat and completely adequate for our needs. including cable TV and WiFi - and the place was very quiet and restful, which was big plus for us. There are even several nice, full hook-up RV sites available - well off the road and not crowded together. We will certainly visit again and highly recommend this location and B & B.
