“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Old Farm House! Walt kindly allowed us to follow him around and help with farm chores which our three girls (ages 6-12) loved! Walt also very patiently took us on a horseback trail ride with first time riders. The Old Farm House smelled like an older house when we arrived, but after airing it out by opening the windows it was much better. We will definitely plan to return.”

“This was the PERFECT stay in the mountains of NC. The farmhouse was so cute and put together well for our stay-we even had farm fresh eggs! I loved having a laundry room as well. The stocked game shack for the kids did not disappoint either. What a clever addition! The property is absolutely beautiful. “This was a great place for living the pioneer lifestyle and learning firsthand the challenges, realities, and benefits of slowing down to non-electric and non-refrigeration times. The facility was as advertised and the host Walton was very helpful but not intrusive. If you are interested in helping around the farm, be sure to ask. There's always plenty to do. Great do-it-yourself experience.”

“As soon as you pull in you are greeted by a beautiful willow tree. The property is just amazing, from the trout stream to the house. Oh my, the house, it is picturesque, it should be featured in a magazine. It is the cleanest vacation rental house we have stayed in. A big plus, just a short drive to Watauga lake. The host, Gary, is super friendly. We can’t wait to come back!”
