Be wary when handing over a cash security deposit.
I checked out early before reception was open. Called them about the security deposit and they said they'd return the security deposit onto my card or bank transfer it. I flew out of Townsville thinking my security deposit would be refunded that day. I called them up after flying home to confirm the return of my security deposit. A different girl answered the phone & said they can't return cash. They would hold my money in a client account at the Motel for next time I come back & stay. They've gone against what they told me. Is this even legal? I'm not returning to Townsville. Was there briefly for a family funeral. I'm waiting on the manager to call me back and sort this out. They said she's busy with meetings and could take 3 days. I said I'd be calling tomorrow. Hopefully this should be sorted out.
