“The room itself was spacious and comfortable. The receptionist was very helpful. The location in the city centre was very convenient, but there was a fair bit of noise overnight (traffic as well as people moving their suitcases in the early hours), so keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper. My main complaint was that the temperature setting of the fridge/freezer wasn't cold enough when we arrived, so the freezer thawed out overnight and we had to throw out some food. “The Reef hotel got what you need without a gold star. Wifi, breakfast, a small gym (dumbells and treadmill), a roof top pool etc. Gladstone it self is a kind of grey village. Stayed there to catch a boat to Heron Island.”

“Amazing island with dreamy beaches and spectacular wild life. Snorkeling was great and very convenient - we experienced loads of rays, turtles and different fishes. Food was better than expected, except from Christmas Day lunch (disaster to an outrageous high price - but no alternatives available so we had to attend to get lunch). Rooms simple but ok. No AC, fan worked ok. Shower pressure good! Beds not very comfortable. But the main focus was the outdoors so all in all a wonderful experience....
