“There's no doubt that The Boat Inn is a lovely, traditional pub in a super location, right on the banks of the Wye with good views of the river from the bedrooms above the pub. The surroundings are wooded and distinctly bosky, which is nice. There is a small village (Redbrook) with a village shop a few hundred metres away across an old railway bridge. “I didn’t exactly know what I was letting myself in for when I booked into The Shepherd’s Lodge but it was actually a pleasant experience and it provided exactly what I was looking for i.e. a comfortable place to lay my head at night and have a cup of tea and few quiet hours after a long day at a Folk Music Festival. The only problems I encountered were due to the weather and therefore beyond anyone’s control. ”

“Mysigt litet familjehotell, nära till Gloucester centrum där både affärer, katedralen och Gloucester Docks finns. Frukosten får man väja antingen engelsk med ägg och bacon och sånt eller mer vanlig frukost med gröt och yoghurt och sånt. Föredrar att få plocka ihop frukost själv via en buffé annars hade jag satt högsta betyg. Katedralen i Gloucester är imponerande och väl värd ett besök! Småbyarna runt The Cotswolds är magiska. ”
