“The villa is just the right size for a couple or small family. It’s perfectly located in Varenna and easy walking distance to everything. The owners are wonderful, met us to take us to the property and provide several nice amenities. They also checked in on us to make sure we were okay and provided several options for things to do and places to eat. Would highly recommend if you want a true Italian experience.”

“The location is excellent and the view from this property is stunning! Literally walk out your front door and down the steps to the main road lining Varenna. Very walkable! We knew the age of the house based on pictures and description, which is why it was charming and felt “old Italy,” but age did show with some things, like the upstairs bathroom. “Loved it and can’t wait to return! The view is gorgeous—amazing sunsets and, in the morning, Varenna is lit up by the sun. The patio is also right next to an old waterfall/fountain ruin type of thing that is lit up at night and it’s stunning. The inside of the apartment is also fantastic and we loved the very large bathtub and the rain shower heads. A few things to know—it IS the penthouse so there are quite a bit of outside stairs to get to the apartment. It wasn’t really a problem for us but...

“The property was very nice and the check in process was easy. It would be good to have a car because Uber and car share services do not work in Varenna. The taxi service is a little sporadic and expensive. The train station is a long walk as is town. The view was great with plenty of space. I would rent here again but only if i had a car”

“Wir haben zwei sehr entspannte Wochen in dem wunderschönen Haus verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Es ist alles vorhanden was man benötigt um sich auch selbst zu versorgen. Nur das WLAN ist zeitweise sehr instabil. Man geht über einen Weg direkt zum See und gelangt an einen kleinen und ruhigen Strandabschnitt. Wir würden es auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen. ”

“Das Haus ist etwas abseits abgelegen und daher sehr ruhig und idyllisch im Grünen. Die Vermieterin hat sich bei der Übergabe sehr viel Zeit genommen und ist alles wichtige erklärt und gezeigt, inkl. Privatstrand. Das Haus selbst ist neu renoviert und hat alles, was man braucht. Einziges Manko: man ist etwas weiter weg vom Schuss und braucht eigentlich für alle Erledigungen das Auto, mit dem man den etwas beschwerlichen Feldweg zum Haus zurücklegt.”

“The appartment was very clean and neat, located very close to the lake, main plaza, good restaurants and a ferry. Franco and his wife Giusy warmly welcomed us and did everything possible to make us feel comfortable. Colico is a lovely quiet town we would love to come back.”

"Service was on point, and so was the localization. However the receptions localization and breakfast is in a building 100m away which wasn’t that big of a issue. The biggest problem we had was that there was a lot of noise from the street outside but also from within the same building, this made our night sleep quite difficult. The bed was not so comfy and there was no hair conditioner available. The tv didn’t work but we didn’t come to watch television in lake como. The place was cleaned everyday. Breakfast was varied and they offered gluten-free alternatives. Overall a bit expensive for what you get. "
