“After watching the ABC segment filmed a long time ago, it is a credit to the owners to see how lovely and relaxing the accommodation is now.The Blacksmith’s Cottage is perfect for a couple. We bought cheese and wine with us as we’d read the reviews and knew a full kitchen wasn’t included. A microwave, crockery and tea/coffee making supplies were so it was perfect. The donkeys on the property were very friendly and we managed to see the Highland cattle later in the evening. Overall a great...

“Incredible stay at Basalt Retreat! We enjoyed a cozy and luxurious evening the beautiful vineyard, made even more lovely by the complimentary bottle of prosecco and warm hot cocoa. The space itself is gorgeous and so well appointed—from the fascinating books to the gorgeously-scented bath products. Breakfast was delicious: an exquisite croissant loaf with butter and fig jam, plus yogurt and muesli, all made by local purveyors. If you have time, make sure to get lunch at the lovely restaurant....

“We stayed as a group of 10, aged from 8 to 80 and every single person enjoyed the stay a lot! The view from living rooms and master bedroom was simple stunning, alpacas and sheeps at the door step were divine as well as beautiful outdoor entertainment area including nicely setup fire pit (including wood provided), large dinning area, swings and quality pizza oven. The communication with the owner was excellent and the house looked exactly as advertised (if not better). Kitchen was fully equipped...

“The location was lovely and the home very clean and inviting. ”

“A large farm with all kinds of animals.A large camp ground available for off leash activities when not occupied by others. Will surely recommend to our friends with dogs”

“Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Max and Katie were so welcoming and friendly whilst also being very mindful of giving us appropriate privacy. We stayed for 3 nights with our two Shetland Sheepdogs who also had a very happy and chilled time and these guys normally struggle to chill. Everything about this property was just perfect and we also had some beautiful walks nearby and also headed down to nearby Apollo Bay for a day. We can’t wait to go back and are planning another booking very...

“Beautiful and clean”

“We had an incredible stay! The house was in perfect location. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived, which we truly appreciated. Our host was fantastic—always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. Best of all, they were so accommodating to my family and our pets, making us feel right at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!"”

“Cosy spot for a few nights at a decent price (mind the extra persons charge!). Will definitely consider it again in the future.”

“Kids loved the pool. ”

“We could noy be happier with this accidental find. Cathy's property was just absolutely stunning and peaceful. The house was clean and catered to all ages from 1 to 85 years of age. We could not have asked for a better experience and look forward to coming back again. ”
