“Water from tap smelled like sewage. Breakfast was minimal. Room had stains and was a handicap room which was not required. Lamps were so dim could not read by them.”

“The room was spacious and had a nice view of the lake. I couldn't get a good night's sleep because it was so loud. Not that there were loud people, but because the building is so old and poorly insulated that you can hear everything happening in other rooms like it's in your room.”

“Not what pictures portray. Living in Michigan my entire life I think all of mackinaw city has depleted in cleanliness and price gauging. We booked a “superior room” which means nothing like the photos. We were told it’s just a standard queen with a water view balcony. The room was so dirty.. mold in the shower on the ceilings, stains on the sheets, filthy lampshades. “Great inn. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and homemade. Cookies in the afternoon a treat. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great. Within walking distance yo restaurants and short drive to ferry. Highly recommend”

“Clean room and helpful staff”

“The room we stayed in was clean, just basic. We stayed at the budget inn and they make it very clear through the booking and on the lobby door of the budget inn that you checkin/out at the Thunderbird Inn next door. The rooms were basic and felt equal to the affordable price we paid. The pools were not open but it was a cold memorial day weekend trip. I got to bring my dog for only $25 for the whole 4 nights. “The ceiling tiles is almost falling apart from being wet wth the rain . The bath tub has stains all over ! The fridge is covered with dust from the ceiling pieces . Breakfast is ok . The room needs a lot of improving .”

“The rooms are very dated but were clean enough. There was no breakfast as advertised. Both of our pools were empty but we were told we could use the one next door. If you want a warm shower you better get up early, otherwise you get a cold shower. We did have free access to the water parks in the area, which was nice. The price and location were great.”

“We stayed for 3 days - the rooms were spacious with 2 queen beds and balcony. Bathroom amenities were decent. The room was cleaned everyday. The staff were friendly. The only complaint would be the breakfast - no scrambled egg or omlette, no meat options either. They had a waffle station and boiled egg, yogurt etc. in the freezer. The dock in the rear of the building was closed - hence no paddle boating. Overall, it was an 'ok' experience.”

“Shower handle was broken off. Cobwebs in bathroom corners. Water was plumbed backwards on sink. Hot Water took many minutes to reach room. Font desk was only staffed 9am - 9pm.”

“The beach view was wonderful! Room was clean, beds were comfortable enough, and A/C worked well. A quite decent stay for those on a budget even with a few maintenance items that should be addressed. The door to the room had a considerable gap at the bottom allowing light and the elements in. Some mold and old caulk in the bathroom, as well as the hairdryer that shorted out mid-use.”
