“First floor room (gecko) has terrible smell (possibly mold) that we had to endure through the night. We stayed here only one night and it was a very tiring experience with trying to fix that smell but couldn’t do it at all despite of trying candle, room freshener, my perfume. We ended up sleeping upstairs in one unit to get some sleep. The weird part is that property is at a great place and upstairs unit is very well maintained, so not sure why such a simple but important check is missed. We...

“Pros: I liked the location. There was easy access to Puna, Volcano NP, and Hilo. The owner gave me a 5 minute spiel on the property. Everything was in working order. Cons: I stayed at 4 different VRBO properties during my stay on the Big Island. All property owners except this one provided directions, check in instructions and check out instructions. You won't get that. And the directions are not intuitive at all. So I will do the property owner's job for him and hopefully save you frustration...
