“Fantastically comfortable bed, couldn't wait to get into it each of the 3 nights we stayed. Nicely appointed and very clean accommodation but in this day and age the least expectation would be a small microwave and a sink in the room. Found plates, cups and cutlery but not ideal having to wash up in the bathroom and Ranfurly doesn't have many places to eat out at night.”

“Authentically maintained old hotel in a stunning location. Considering the very low outside temperatures, the hotel, restaurant and accommodation areas were toasty warm during our entire stay (3 nights). Beds and pillows super comfy, bedding super cosy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of options on the continental breakfast buffet, and evening menu was great too. A lot of sights to see and several quaint settlements and towns to visit, all within an hour or so drive of the hotel....

“The cottage was nicely appointed, clean, and of course, very tranquil. Sharon was communicative and helpful with directions. We enjoyed our stay. It’s off the beaten track and take your time on the journey as you get there, and drive slowly, as the views are lovely. ”

“The advertised location as being on the Otago Rail Trail was incorrect. In fact it was 17 km from the trail in a different town so we couldn’t even get there. Very disappointing.”
