  • This character filled, coastal miners cottage has over 150 years of history in its' walls! Built in c1870, Protea Cottage provides a peaceful place to spend your holiday.
    Located in the heart of Wallaroo, it's an easy walk into town & to the beach where you'll find great pubs, a distillery, cafe, a grocery store & a bottle shop. Or take a quick drive down to North Beach where you can drive on the beach & enjoy North Beach Kitchen.

It was an older cottage which means it has character (we live in a similar aged house so am aware of these and enjoy them)Generally we found the cottage in excellent condition and the facilities were good.WE enjoyed our stay in Wallaroo and the Copper Coast area not having been there for some yearsAmber's instructions for entry were concise and precise and her communication was more than adequate. In short a good host.

The perfect cosy stay.

Mum and her partner had a wonderful 2 night stay. Both are in their 80s, and found the property had everything they needed. The couch was very comfortable and the place was ultra clean.They look forward to rebooking later in the year.

Lovely cottage for short stay with pet

The cottage was lovely to stay in, amenities were good, and our dog (border collie) was safe in the enclosed yard when we were out for dinner.

Just gorgeous!

Gorgeous cottage so beautifully decorated with everything catered for. Fabulous location walking distance to Main Street. Great secure yard for pooches too and private. We absolutely loved our stay.

Great stay in Wallaroo

The property is well located, only a few minutes walk to shops in town. It’s clean and cozy and has all the amenities you’d need. The securely fenced yard is ideal if you’re brining a dog.

Protea cottage was great

Amazing to stay in old miners cottage. Clean, beds comfy, well equipped kitchen (apart from a tea towel), lovely hot water in bathroom but only tepid in kitchen, nice garden and outdoor area, quiet at night. Would recommend.

A week to relax

We loved the little cottage. It was snug and warm, considering the 3 days of continuous rain we had. We were able to read, relax, cook and explore Wallaroo. Loved it!

Qaint, comfortable old cottage, but could have been cleaner e g we could'nt use the bbq as it was too dirty, and the out side tables were nit clean, nor the front porch. However, the location is fine and overall the cottage was comfortable and made for an enjoyable stay.
