Horrible customer service, deceiving beach access, unstable house
We knew prior to our stay in August that Waves doesn’t have a lot of stores/restaurants so we planned accordingly for food and menu for the week. We were celebrating birthdays on the 2nd day of our stay and we spent hundreds of dollars on a steak dinner for all 10 guests. Within seconds of putting the steaks on the grill the entire thing went up in flames, completely ruining our birthday celebration and also our entire meal plan for the rest of the week, as we were planning to grill and unable to. We were very lucky that no one was hurt. In addition to the grill there were a few things that we brought to the attention of an employee of Surf or Sound Realty via a # they provided us. Throughout the course of our week we contacted this number several times and each time we were assured our concerns would be addressed and resolved, to which each time they were ignored. We book beach houses yearly and have never had such incredibly poor customer service. The realty company requests that upon checkout that you clean the grill, however, this wasn’t just one or two weeks of not having been cleaned, this in addition to other things on the list was something that had likely not been cleaned or checked by the property manager all summer, and has the potential to be very dangerous. The house was spacious, but you could feel it shaking upon every move as if it were unstable. There is beach access but it’s very misleading and up a giant dune, and a very hard walk for children and elderly.
