“Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. The walls were wafer thin, you can hear the tap running and toilet etc from the room next door. Also the water in the bathroom made a right racket when you ran the tap, shower or flushed the toilet. “Regrettably our room number 6. Did not smell nice. It had the smell of old wet trainers. We did mention it and a room diffuser was turned on. Some of the fixtures and fitting were falling apart. The shower was head was not appropriate for the size of the shower causing flooding. The staff were lovely and theroom was clean.”

“All the staff we met were great, cheerfull helpfull and polite. The room was clean and comfortable and what one expects in a very old building. Only 4 stars for 2 reasons the shower only worked on the large head and the food choices were very limited both in the restaurant and at breakfast. No salads and limited vegetables in restaurant.No fruit or cereal at breakfast. The hotel is remote which is part of it's appeal for us so going out in the evening is not an option,I would have struggled...

“A charming pub in a great location, but can get crowded. Comfortable room, modern bathroom, everything clean and tidy. Coffee-making facilities in the room a plus. Good food in the restaurant (including breakfast) and a good selection of beers in the bar. Service is directed mainly towards bar customer, so it can be difficult to get attention as a hotel guest. Parking in a dedicated carpark just over the road.”

“A very clean and well equipped room - limited parking but perfectly adequate - disappointing lack of breakfast - rice crispies and cormflakes don't do it! Very good dinner and bar facilities”
