Boutique 17th Century Cottage

Denna unika, karaktäristisk egenskap har blivit omsorgsfullt utformad för att göra den bästa användningen av utrymme och är Grade 2 listade. Det ligger i en pittoresk miljö och resulterar i en charmig stuga med en mängd intressanta och ursprungliga funktioner - panel trädörrar och garderob och Stuart balkar. Huset har en läsning / omklädningsrum, en logg brännare, vackert klädda fönster med eleganta tyger och tillbehör. Original Lakeland skiffer golv och exponerade ek balkar, med samtida ek golv på övervåningen. Synen på lokala fjällen kan ses från Southern Kitchen och sovrumsfönster, frestande för vandrare. Du kan helt enkelt parkera upp för veckan och njuta av sjöarna till fots. Stugan har promenader direkt från dörren, tillsammans med hisnande sjön och bergslandskapet. Detta mysiga by stuga är avsedd för två. Obs: Inga barn tillåts, inklusive spädbarn eller rökning, men hundar kan övervägas. Shop (Spar), ATM, garage och gastropub 50 meter bort.

Stugan byggdes av 1690 och var ursprungligen en del av Coaching House, nu Traditionell kulturmärkt, och stall på huvud Windermere vägen.

Enastående, cirkulär promenad från stugan till Troutbeck; efter ett besök på National Trust Townend Hall, ta en drink på The Mortal Man följer sedan gamla spår och stigar upp till toppen av Wansfell, för enastående utsikt över Windermere och Ambleside.

Charming location that allowed exploring the lake district without a car. Frequent buses at the stop nearby. Loved the old stone walls with the slate floors. We have an old house with narrow stairs, so they felt like home. (Hang onto the railing). We arrived in a downpour, and had some trouble locating #14 (overgrown). Thank goodness for SPAR at the gas station for hot coffee and food basics. Go hiking out the back, up the field, around the sheep for some incredible views

Ambleside

The property is undoubtedly small. It was very clean and comfortable - a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. Plenty of grocery stores and pubs/restaurants in surrounding area. A very steep narrow staircase leading to the second level of the property. I note this has been mentioned in other reviews too. Overall, my wife and I were very satisfied with the property.

Beautiful cottage in Troutbeck Bridge

We loved our stay in this cottage. The owners have put such thought into the items and I loved the textiles and pictures. It was super comfy and a real treat to stay at the cottage. Although easy access via a main road and spar garage for goodies, the cottage itself is in a private road and set back. We were able to walk from the cottage to the most glorious walks. A great treat.

Disappointed

We love the Lake District but we were very disappointed and dismayed at the level of cleanliness and state of the property. Yes it’s very old and there is no doubt it has charm and history, but it wasn’t clean and it isn’t looked after. It was very cold downstairs, even with the heating on, and damp with wet patches on the floor. It definitely wasn’t worth the money.

Lovely little cottage

We really enjoyed our short stay here. The cottage was full of character but cleverly modernised with a well- equipped kitchen squeezed in at the foot of the stairs. The bathroom had a great shower. The cottage is in a great location with walks from the door but just near the town.

Nice little cottage on a busy bus route, wasn’t very welcoming on first impressions, con webs throughout the accommodation and smelt foisy, the mirror in the sitting room and bedroom looked like they had been cleaned with a floor cloth, the kitchen window was so dirty it was difficult to see down the drive. Spent about £35 on kindling & logs trying to warm the place up, booked for a week which was far too long, 2-3 nights would have been enough. Came home a day early, wouldn’t recommend it to family or friends…

Perfect location for visit to the Lakes District

Well-located charming cottage. Pub/restaurant and convenience store steps away. Windermere center is about a 30 minute walk. Several nice hikes up to Troutbeck right outside the door.

Lovely stay

Cute little cottage in a good location with everything you would need. Stairs are typical of the age of the cottage, after a day out in the hills they became a challenge in themselves! Overall lovely couple days away. Thanks! Spar across the road had everything you would need including logs and kindling.

Amazing little find

A gorgeous cottage, ideal for a little getaway over Christmas. The owners sent comprehensive instructions of how to find it as it is tucked away. The neighbours were quiet and courteous. The cottage was even decorated with a little tree and other bits. I was worried about being cold but it was lovely and warm despite the constant rain outside throughout my stay.

A delightful quaint cottage!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rosebud Cottage. The amenities are well thought out. Modern bathroom including a superb heated towel rack, full kitchen with quality dishes, a washing machine for our dirty laundry, etc. The location was convenient, and we took the bus everywhere. We would not hesitate to return to this charming and quiet location.
