Hillsville

“My sister and I stayed at The Dairy Barn for my birthday and the best word I can use to describe it is "bucolic". It possessed all of those attributes you look for in a quiet getaway. Rebecca was easy to communicate with and pleasant. We hit the local wineries on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Floyd, New River Trail and other small, quaint towns that dot that area. The fireflies were spectacular after dark as well as the stars. On our last evening there, cows were released to graze in the field next to...

12. Cozy 1-bedroom house in awesome Lambsburg with WiFi, AC , swimming pool.

Lambsburg

“Great place to stay. It's literally the best place to disconnect. Quiet. The pool was really ours (clearly the family pool but grateful we had it to ourselves!). Vincent was super communicative. Room is clean. If you struggle with plug in scents like I do because of my neuro disorder - just message Vincent ahead of time as we had to remove it when we got there - it's stout. Bed is increpibly standard. TV has no streaming apps - and no hair dryer (I'm used to properties having - not a big deal -...

“Some of the amenities listed for the property we're not on site. There was no hot tub. That wasn't a huge deal. However, the listing did state there was air conditioning and there was not. There happened to be record high temperatures during our stay and two adults have medical conditions/on medication that makes them heat intolerant as well as one of the children being autistic, the lack of AC was a major issue. The property management company brought out portable units and promptly resolved...

17. Million-Dollar View Off Blue Ridge Parkway

Fancy Gap

“View is exceptional. Nice windows inside to see the Blue Ridge Mountains. Saw a doe and her baby. Also saw turkey! Many amenities of home. Host was quick to reply to messages. Downside, there was an odor when we entered, but we like open windows the best anyway! With the winds open, fresh air was flowing. I’m just sensitive to odors, you may not be. Overall—- it was a very relaxing time for us as we celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary overlooking the mountains!”
