“I give this a five star because it is excellent for what it is meant to be - a no frills, clean, and comfortable place to sleep and rest for a couple days while we explored the area. It is nothing fancy - there is no free breakfast (which are usually less than to be desired anyways). It is nicely decorated in the retro style and is a fun throwback to the motels of the 50's and 60's. I like that there were two chairs, so my spouse and I could both sit to watch TV or read, because I prefer to sit...

“The owner, Carl, is awesome! This is the cleanest place I have ever stayed and it is absolutely beautiful. Even the outdoor area is clean. Carl made us feel welcome and safe. He was attentive to our needs and left is to our privacy. We enjoyed grilled steaks on the park-style charcoal grill by the fire pit (clean firewood provided). Lights and Bluetooth speakers out side and huge TVs inside. Attention to detail was impressive. Lake Lure is great too. We will definitely return when we're back in...
