Magnifik villa designad av ägaren som är en känd arkitekt från Santa Monica, Kalifornien. Han och hans fru reste genom Mexiko i 15 år och studerade antika Maya- och Olmec-platser och översatte sedan deras inflytande till ett samtida och skulpturellt konstverk efter traditionen för Frank Lloyd Wrights Maya-inspirerade samtida hem. Villan visar ägarens kärlek till området och är utformad perfekt för optimal havbris med mycket bostadsyta.

Dos Jaguares är 5 000 kvadratmeter med vita och silver marmorgolv från Durango, Mexiko, specialbyggda Honduras mahogny skåp och möbler, fotografier på väggarna skapade av ägarna av berömda Maya och Olmec platser överförs till duk och art deco stiliserade glasblock med havet och himmelfärger från Miami. Dessa art deco-block används i hela villan och är infällda i höga kolumner vid ingången till villan och även vid havet. En av de många "magiska" delarna av villan är hallen på övervåningen som består av Maya-bågar inspirerade av palatset vid Palenque. Med hjälp av invecklad belysning har de en speciell glöd på natten, liksom den centrala innergården med stiliserade trappsteg och tropisk landskapsarkitektur.

Övervåningen sovrummet är stort, liksom badrummet med ett badkar du kan suga i medan du njuter av utsikten över havet, eller du kan njuta av den fantastiska utomhusdusch. Detta sovrum har också en stor balkong vid havet. Det finns också möjlighet att koppla av i den lugnande jacuzzin nere i den tropiska trädgården. Valet är ditt!

Övervåningen Rummet har utsikt över trädgården, privat badrum och ett litet utomhusdäck för att titta på solnedgången. Beautiful beach house!

We had a great Christmas stay at Dos Jaguares! The house is enormous and had plenty of room for our group of eight. The staff was great to work with and made things easy. Lots of beach activities at the house - kayaking, snorkeling, or hanging out on the beach. We loved every minute of it. Thank you so much!!

Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing time.Only shortfall was a real oven, as we had a wedding cake to bake, but the property manager let us use another villa for that- very accommodating! The space was not ideal for 12 adult guests as the room for 4 was quite small, but it was beautifully appointed and very nicely situated.

A week at Dos Jaguares

We were a group of 9 friends staying at Dos Jaguares for the first week of January. The booking and check-in process went well. The property manager and his team are very responsive and provided all details ahead of time. Throughout our trip, they were able to suggest us activities nearby. Rosa, our maid, is wonderful. She came daily to clean the house and change towels as needed. She also did some groceries and cooking for us which was very appreciated. The area is quiet and safe (gated community). The small beach is great but careful to the rocks and see urchins. Only downside is the limited space and tools for cooking a large group. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience.

Delivers on all it promises!

I planned a 50th birthday party with six friends at Villa Dos Jaguares, and really can't say enough about how nice it was. We were very grateful to Rosa for all the expert care during the visit. There were lots of really nice touches including carafes with bottled water in all the bathrooms, some snorkel equipment in the cupboards and pico de gallo and guacamole and beer and sodas waiting in the fridge when we arrived. The proximity to the beach was wonderful, the views, the rooftop, the balconies, and the outdoor shower feel particularly luxurious. We rented a car and went to Ek Balam and into Tulum for dinner a couple times. Also good snorkeling right in our backyard! Stuff to keep in mind, but that isn't a deal breaker for a slightly smaller group, the water pressure in the back bathroom behind the kitchen was very low, so for a group our size we had to share showers a bit. The Queen suite by the front door is naturally musty I think since it's on the same level as the yard, although it's very private.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had 12 people including 3 children under 3. Perfect place for everyone. Amazing views, great snorkeling. Bring beach shoes. Some sargasm, but it was picked up, EVERY morning. Delicious meals were cooked for us by Rosa and her team. You will need a rental car if you want to go anywhere/see anything. 30 minute walk to town, on the beach. The bedrooms have AC, the house does not (the house does get hot, but it was unseasonably warm). Everyone was very accommodating to us and any issue that came up.

Superbe !!

Tout était exactement comme sur l’annonce et mieux encore. Rosa et Jaime ont été adorables, je recommande vivement les dîners Maya qu’ils proposent, ce fut un régal ! La villa en elle même est superbe, l’emplacement féerique avec un lever du soleil magique tous les matins sur la plage. Je ne peux que recommander !

We loved Rosa and Jaime. They kept the house and grounds beautifully clean and yet were so unobtrusive as if things were just magically done. Rosa made us the most delicious Mayan chicken dinner. We loved having the use kayaks right out in front of the house. Maria from the management company was hugely helpful in making arrangements for us before our stay. The service was top notch in every way. I highly recommend this property for families or small groups. It was really wonderful.

Just wonderful

House has such a beautiful architectural solutions and design, energy inside and on the beach is so relaxed and special. Me, my husband and our friends have all amazing time. We try different houses around Tulum and we love this one the best!!! Rosa maid also made our stay so good.

Great snorkeling off of patio!

My kids loved it. Location is great very close to Tulum and all kinds of Cenotes. Beware, no AC in kitchen and living room and it does get hot even in October! Not 💯 sure I would stay again without AC in whole house. Water pressure is basically nonexistent is showers as well. Rosa the housekeeper is great. She did our laundry and cleaned daily. Positive, the snorkeling is great in the bay. My family loved our stay. I loved location to Tulum without the traffic. Do gl to the Walmart in playa Del Carmen, the smaller grocery stores don’t have a ton to lick from. If you have a large family this home I’d good to try. Private, safe, good location.

An Epic Celebration

We rented the Villa for my 50th birthday celebration with 9 friends . Everything was perfect . We had a private beach , chef services and daily cleaning . The Villa is in a secluded part of Akumal , in between Cancun and Tulum . It’s easy to get too and very easy to get in and out of . The management was super helpful in helping us plan. Overall we had an amazing experience here . We plan to come back again. This place is divine !

The house is stunning and all the bedrooms have air conditioners. The beach is right out the back door! Kids and us went snorkeling out the back and saw some coral and fish. There are many points of interest within a short drive. We did xel-ha, Coba, and the Gran Cenote. I’d highly recommend them all. The community has security guards doing rounds and we felt safe. We enjoyed having privacy away from the over populated resorts.

Anyone familiar with the Mayans will notice the unique Mayan design elements incorporated into this villa. All of our family enjoyed the villa and the staff. Akumal Bay is a great place to snorkel, see the turtles and enjoy the beach life. We will all be back very soon.

wonderful family vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: the home is lovely. it was perfect accommodations for a big family that wants some privacy at times. Water pressure and temperature controls in the bathrooms were a little challenging, but were addressed when we finally asked. Rosa was the best!!! our place was spotless each day when she left. we were disappointed and stressed to find no baby crib/pack-n-play the evening we arrived, which made for a potentially tough night with a 14 month old, but we managed. I had purposely checked several times to make sure it would be there and set up, but to no avail. the one they brought the next day was in pretty bad shape, but at least it was usable. Overall a very nice property and a great vacation.

Of all of the villas we have stayed at this is by far the largest. It handled our family nicely and we were all surprised by the space and how nice it was. The beach is beautiful, if you like rock. You can walk down the beach to enjoy the sand, but it's not your ideal beach.The highlights... the Outdoor Shower in the Master sweet upstairs and the Maid & her husband... They are amazing!We would consider renting this property again if we had a large group. We never did get a visit from the property manager? I would rent again without question through Akumal-Villas.

Akumal in general and South Akumal beach in particular turned out to be great choices. By far the least crowded beach and best for swimming. The villa itself could use a little TLC but we enjoyed it and it worked well for us. The staff were excellent as was the service from Akumal Villas.
