It is one of those places that when you are pulling up, you start doubting whether you are at the right place or not. Filled to the brim with details and so unique. “Rented for three nights in December. Pre-communication was not as expected. We had to contact the host to receive an email for the “unlock code” and the wifi. Arrived at dusk and saw a MasterLock keybox on the side of the wall but could not unlock the box to get the keys. Call to the host rolled to voicemail with a full mailbox. “Excellent secluded home in the heart of the wine country. We love having the wood stove inside during the winter when we stayed. Home was clean and had all the amenities we could ask for our weekend stay. We will be booking again in the spring or summer to bring the kids to explore the woods and the connecting Shawnee national forest property. Close to wineries and restaurants in the area as well as hiking trails. Loved it!!! Thank you!!!”

“The “cottage” was definitely not as advertised. It was rated well, which is very deceiving. It was dirty, dilapidated and the shower was something out of a horror movie. Mold had taken over. Expedia and VRBO should take a good hard look at how they vet their listed properties. But that was the good part. Approximately 11 pm, there was a knock at the front door. There were 3 gangbangers standing there expecting us to let them in. I yelled “occupied” out the door, they mumbled something and left....
