Our criteria was a place with parking because we had a rental car. This place advertised it had parking. It does not. I drove around for over an hour looking for a parking spot. We had scheduled a private tour of the main sights and missed the first hour because of that. The tour was expensive and this wasted our time and money and messed up our day! Then when we went to the apartment, it was not what we were expecting. We walked into the apartment and there was an old, musty smell. It activated our allergies. I tried turning on the air conditioner, but it didn’t turn on. We were in there about 15 minutes, then found another place to stay and left. I communicated that we were not staying. They sent an email two days later asking what time we thought we were checking out? I told them I had already said we were not staying in that place.
I felt like the building was a little sketchy and had a smell like a nursing home. The contact person did give a 15% refund because the website did say it had parking, but it does not. They also said if I had given them time, they would have helped with the a/c. After the parking fiasco, that ruined our first of 2 days in Athens, I couldn’t stay in a place that smelled. My son was very excited to have his own room after being with his mom for 12 days, but after a few minutes in this place, he didn’t want to stay either. The communication was very clear for checking in, that’s a positive. This is probably not a place for a suburban family.
