“Marley's retreat is a lovely snug apartment in a little village just outside Whitley Bay. The apartment is well catered and very dog friendly which was brilliant for us as a family of 4 plus 2 dogs. The village has 2 really lovely pubs, with good food options and the roaring open fire in the Old Fat Ox was very appreciated in the freezing temperatures we had when visiting. “A very comfortable and well furnished cottage. We were able to cook good meals on an excellent gas range although there are a few bits and pieces of cutlery/crockery that would have made it even better.
This was the fifth time we have stayed in this cottage; it is a great place to stay if you want to see many places in the area. We even visited Newcastle (easy if you use 'park and metro') and as far as Kelso in Scotland to see Floors Castle.”

“The property was spotless and very homely. Everything you need was there and also lovely fresh flowers, milk and biscuits on arrival. There was even treats for the dogs. The staff were lovely that we had met also. You definitely need to take a torch as its very dark at night trying to walk the dogs.”

“Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. ”

“Cottage is well equipped and hosts left us welcome items such as fresh bread and milk on arrival . Good facilities in the kitchen and bathroom and good heating ! Everything was very clean.
