Minutes from the Pink Lift at Shanty Creek

Finished in January 2023, Warbler House is a custom-built home in a great location. Sitting on an acre inside of Shanty Creek’s Schuss Mountain resort. Walk to skiing, snowmobiling, or snowshoeing right out your back door. Grab a six-pack at Short’s Brewing Company 8 minutes away, sample local wines from the stocked wine fridge, toast marshmallows by the fire pit, or take a moment to enjoy the solitude of the woods as you sit in the chair lift swing on the covered patio. Antrim county gets more snow than any other part of Michigan making it the perfect winter wonderland to enjoy all winter or celebrate the holidays.

Warbler House is the ideal place for a ski weekend with your friends, a bachelorette party, a family weekend, or any occasion. Two rooms downstairs offer flexibility with a queen and two twin beds that share the downstairs bath. The upstairs suite features a king bed, trundle bed, and full bathroom. Privacy upstairs makes it the perfect space for families.

We love Bellaire, Traverse City, and Torch Lake and built Warbler House as a home base to enjoy them all. We’re excited to share that with you. Ask us about the best spots for leaf peeping, great food, and amazing beer and cocktails just minutes away.

We had some trouble on check in and check out but the house is very nice and roomy. Great location with peaceful woods and a fire pit. Kitchen is awesome and has everything you need - except no griddle for pancakes - but it seems most rentals I stay in don’t have this. The wine fridge is nice to have to put your drinks in. There were no sample wines in it as stated in the listing but that didn’t bother us. Beds are comfortable - we stayed downstairs and had the kids upstairs since it had the trundle. Would prefer some upgraded linens on the downstairs queen bed. Close to the shanty creek resort pool and just a bit further to the town- Bellaire is adorable and Shorts Brewing is great. We went to Torch lake for a day and that was an easy drive and the boys golfed and that was close and great course (summit) as well. Nothing is really walkable from the house though. Lots of games, books, cards etc. at the house. Would stay here again if wanted to hang out with family as it is a great hang out house. Would also be nice for the ski slope in winter. There is no hot tub.

We were very impressed with the house. Very nice and spacious. Fit 8 of us comfortably. Screened in porch was large enough to play corn hole when it was raining. Pretty much had everything that we needed for our long weekend.

Great Stay!!

Amazing stay. Such a beautiful cabin with so many amenities. We loved all the cabin had to offer including so many small touches such as white noise machines in every room, makeup towels, and really cute relaxation in progress on bedroom doorknobs. The summer room is fantastic! Great way to enjoy the outdoors even really late at night. We for sure will be staying again!

Nice and close to ski

Spacious and clean. Had all we needed for a family ski vacation. We had unfortunate issues with no hot water, but the host was responsive and had repairmen come twice to help

Ultimate Family Winter Getaway

We loved the property as it is better than the pictures. The large mudroom was perfect for all of our skiing family. The location is close to the slopes and in a pretty wooded area. All beds are top notch as all of us were comfortable.I just can’t think of anything that could have been better! John is so easy to work with as well.

Beautiful place. Really enjoyed the fireplace and games after a long day of skiing. Beds were comfy, lots of room and storage to take ski gear off. Would stay here again.

Fantastic getaway

Beautiful new home with many thoughtful amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our time! Surrounding area is quiet and wooded. Short drive to Shorts brewing and downtown Bellaire. Host provided excellent instruction, and was prompt in replies. Would highly recommend this property.

This is a beautifully decorated newer home with lots of space that is close to everything. The pool pass is a nice perk as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Schuss Mountain

We thought we were getting a home in the woods with peace and quiet. The homeowner neglected to tell us there is a new construction home going up next-door. When I emailed him about this and why he did not let us know so we could make a decision on whether to stay with or choose a different one, he said it was “a simple oversight”. First week was fine, the second week was constant construction, hammering, sawing trucks backing up with beepers. You could not sit outside. We are very disappointed in this home the homeowner.. his home is not steps from the third green. It’s actually two homes over and you have to walk through the woods. You cannot even see the green, so that was misrepresentation. We will not be back.

Perfect and lovely!!

This house was very clean, welcoming upon arrival, comfortable, and just simply lovely! The host responded very quickly always! It was the perfect rental as we celebrated our son’s marriage in Central Lake for the weekend. I would definitely rent this place again for our family!

Great house, extremely nice location

We loved spending our weekend at this house. It’s big and quiet and all the beds were extremely comfortable. The spacious kitchen made us able to cook homemade pasta and it was such a nice surprise to learn about the pool access. The pool had lake view and it was gorgeous. The house was perfect for a winter gateway. Easy drive into town for restaurants and easy access to the ski resort. The house was well decorated with a large foyer to drop ski gear and hang up coats. The place was quiet and cozy! Really nice place!

Beautiful Modern Ski Chalet

We had a wonderful stay over MLK weekend. The property is absolutely beautiful, with so many special touches throughout. We had enough room for 6 adults and 2 infants, and they had a pack n' play provided. The chalet is a short drive to the yellow lift, and located conveniently on the golf course. If you go in the winter, it is very close to the XC trails. We took the babies winter hiking along the trails through the woods and it was so peaceful. The amenities are great - we used the indoor pool. We will definitely stay again - it was a wonderful place and so cozy!

Great Cottage in the woods

The place is wonderful. The scenery out the back and the overall decor were perfect. Too often, you have to buy all the little items just to cook a meal, but John and his family have you taken care of as there was ample utensils, condiments, and cookware. The place was very comfortable. Definitely enjoyed the main suite being upstairs allowing separation from the kids, while still being close enough to supervise. We definitely recommend this place!!

Great Place to Stay

Perfect chalet for 1 or even 2 families to visit Shanty Creek. All of the conveniences needed to have a great ski weekend up north in a beautiful chalet. Conveniently located near the base of Schuss and a short drive to Cedar River Lodge. Host was fantastic and instantly responded to any questions we had. No hesitation recommending Warbler House
