The only issue was we are travelling by bicycle and the road up to the accommodation was greater than 12% grade and all gravel. Very difficult to get to. “The location of this property is idyllic- so tranquil! We enjoyed two thoroughly relaxing weeks in June/July and felt like we'd found a bit of a hidden gem. The views are stunning and the property is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. It's ideally placed to explore this beautiful region.The hosts are delightful, friendly and discreet (the lovely Serenella and her family). Any language barrier was easily solved with mobile phone translators.The pool is huge and very well maintained daily....

“Wonderful place to stay! Extremely friendly host. The property is so beautiful. Right on the lake. We made coffee and sat on the black sand beach in the mornings, and painted near the beach in the evenings. The kids played in the nice, clean pool. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the town of Bolsena was a 5 minute drive, with plenty of options for food. We chose this location for access to Terme di Saturnia (1 hour drive) and Civita Di Bagnoregio (30 min drive). We found our stay here...

A wonderful stay at Hotel Della Fortezza

"We had an amazing experience at Hotel Della Fortezza! The unique atmosphere and historic setting made our stay truly special. What really stood out to us was the hotel’s strong commitment to sustainability — from eco-friendly practices to their focus on local, organic products. We especially loved the delicious locally produced food, which gave us a real taste of the region. It’s clear that the hotel values quality and the environment in everything they do. Highly recommended — definitely worth a visit!"
