Holiday country cottages with a communal swimming pool and tennis court
The farmhouse and holiday cottages are in a quiet rural location surrounded by beautiful countryside, near the small seaside resort town of Bude on the North Cornish Coast.
The houses originate from the 16th century and are set in 25 acres of land with stunning views across the fields to the coast. This is a small-family run business with a total of ten holiday cottages for rent. The well equipped cottages are of different sizes: small huts are equipped to host two guests, there are modern huts to accommodate up to seven, and the farmhouse itself sleeps eleven persons. A heated outdoor swimming pool (open from Easter up to the end of September) children’s play area, hot tub, games room (with pool table and table football) and tennis court allow guests to enjoy spending some time together.
The property is near the A39, making it an ideally situated starting point to discover the beautiful surrounding areas in North Cornwall and North Devon. The Eden Project, Tintagel, Boscastle, Pencarrow, Post Isaac, the Camel Valley, Padstow, Clovelly and Appledore are all within easy reach. The large sandy beaches are very popular amongst surfers, and there are several surf schools. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months and the sea pool at Bude provides a haven for safe swimming. The area around the South West Coast Path and Bodmin Moor is a perfect place for hiking. Horse riding, golf, sea-fishing, canoeing and coasteering are all available locally. There are numerous good restaurants, shops and supermarkets near Bude. You will find great cycle routes in the area. You can also enjoy a nice walk along the canal to Bude or across the fields to Widemouth Bay.
Manor cottage is part of a small complex of holiday cottages in a peaceful rural location with great views. We are on the edge of Marhamchurch, a village with a pub and shop. Our cottages are just a 10 minute drive from Bude and Widemouth Bay on the North Cornish coast. Bude is a small seaside town with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There are two beaches in Bude and another at Widemouth Bay. These are popular with surfers and families. A range of watersports is available locally - on the sea, the canal and at Tamar Lakes. There are lots of other beaches, including more remote spots within an easy drive. We are a few minutes from the A39, so a good base for exploring North Cornwall and North Devon. Tintagel, Clovelly, Padstow and Appledore are within easy reach. The Eden Project is about 1 hour away.
This country cottage offers space for six persons on the ground floor, featuring two bedrooms with a double bed each and one bedroom with two single beds. There also is one ensuite shower room and a family bathroom with a bathtub. The upper floor hosts the open plan kitchen and living-/dining area, and it boasts a breathtaking view over the countryside down to the sea. The kitchen is fully equipped including gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer combination, microwave, dish washer and a washing machine and clothes dryer. A large dining table, flat screen television and DVD player are also available. Central heating is available in all rooms.
There is an outdoor swimming pool (open April-End September), a tennis court, hot tub, children's play area, outdoor table tennis and games room. These are shared facilities.
There is a patio area with seating and a small balcony to take in the view. The cottage is set within larger grounds, including a play area for children.
