The host was beyond nice! I stayed past Thanksgiving and they even whent as far as to make sure I had a dinner and company if I wasn’t going back home for the holiday. I’ve stayed here once before I still love it! I highly recommend.

Communication with the host was only through the messaging on the Expedia website. The room was cold when we arrived and had one small space heater. There was no thermostat for central heating. There was a time lag in response from the host. We were in the area for a wedding and were on a tight timeline. The host indicated that they could change the setting on a thermostat in another unit to heat our unit or bring us more space heaters. Not being able to adjust temperature in the suite is a deal-breaker. Whenever we got hot or cold, were we to try to contact them? Crazy. Stay away from this place!

Hidden Gem

The Franklin Estate in Ruckersville VA is an absolute joy to visit. The grounds are lovely (even covered in snow) and everything was clean, convenient and comfortable. The host was attentive without being intrusive, everything was in perfect working order, amenities were inviting and, due to my winter travel, could only speculate at how fun the pool probably is. Looks like it might double as a venue of some sort, perhaps weddings or parties, but classy enough to not host a frat party. I would definitely stay here again.

Franklin Estate

The place was like an apartment. Very nice, clean, nice neighborhood. Kitchen has everything you need to cook, which was very important to me. Angela the host was great. When I had a question she replied quickly and courteously. I will be in the area again and I would definitely stay here. Thanks!

The room we stayed in was one of 7 subdivided rooms in a large plantation-like home.Pluses:1.Reasonable price in an expensive Charlottesville market2. Clean3. Quiet location4. Comfortable bedNeutral:Only 10 miles out of Charlottesville but a 35 minute drive in non-rush hour trafficMinuses:1. The rooms on the bottom level (ours - Studio D) - have no thermostats or way to control the temperature. The rooms on the main floor control the temperature, and if a cold spell sets in, as it did on our stay, and the room above is unoccupied without the heat on, our room was really cold. There was a small decorative fireplace/space heater but it was not up to the job.2. Being on the bottom level, the room was dark3. Poor sound insulation between units. We could hear the neighbor coughing in bed.

Upper level rooms have thermostats that set the temp for bottom units
Studios D,E,F are on ground level.

Great Stay

I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at this property and I have to say that it was amazing. Communication with the property manager was good. She responded in timely manners. The property was cleaned and very well miantained. The rooms are definitely much larger than in th epictures. It is a good and quiet place. I will go back for sure.

nice well kept cozy place for three

very nice and clean place. i would surely come back for another stay. our gps took us to a spot but no signs of the residence. we saw a road off to the left and decided to take it. it took us to the residence. would be helpful if there were a sign for the residence pointing in that direction. also, be sure to pull the door to you as you attempt to lock the door.

The Franklin Estate was a great find for us. We were the song a wedding down the road and the accommodations here were everything we needed. Angela was extremely communicative and made sure everything went smoothly. The only downside to our stay was that the walls were very thin and we could hear people talking and the tv in other room even during quiet hours. We could also hear the people above us walking around in the middle of the night. Our stay was short and sweet and The Franklin Estate was perfect for that!
