“This house is very rundown. The house was very musty and smelled. Some windows would not shut/lock. The kitchen drawers wouldn’t open unless you lifted up on the Formica counter top. The place is listed as traditional Farmhouse, however we have a family 150 yr old farmhouse and this is not what I consider to be that. It is directly on a busy road and with the house not secure we couldn’t leave our belongings when we left.”

“The house was not really cleaned. The floors had been vacuumed, but when you moved a lamp you found dirt. The cupboards in the kitchen were full of crumbs. The firewood was too long to fit in the stove. We had a great time. This is intended to be constructive. ”

“The maple castle was awesome! Definitely the most unique house I have ever stayed in. You can sit in the hot tub and watch the river or you can walk down a tiny hill to tie up a tube and float in it. The owners were extremely helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend. ”

“We spent the night in Mad River Valley at the 1830 House for a weekend event. The house was clean and cosy and it accommodated all of us. The Wifi worked well and we loved the privacy each of us had in our own rooms. We also appreciated the kitchen (there are two, if you book the whole house - one up and one down!). It was close to our venue, the Mad River Barn, too. The only downside (minor) was the steep stairwell to the second floor. There was no railing to guide guests. My 84-year-old mom...
