Bay View Heights was a lovely house with a great set up. The view was stunning, the porches were great, kitchen was well-equipped, and we loved the pool table and corn hole. Our only complaints were/are that there is a rooster next door that crows every morning when the sun rises (in the summer that is just before 5 a.m.!!), and in the master, there is one completely uncovered window and flimsy window coverings on the rest of the windows, so there is absolutely no sleeping in for those in the master bedroom. The rooster impacts everyone, but, the window coverings are not an issue for any of the other bedrooms, nor public spaces--even for the blow-up mattress in the basement.
We spoke with the management team the first day, and they were quick to respond to any question or need, but offered no viable solution to the rooster situation. So, future renters need to know about it. If you like to sleep in, this is not the place for you as long as the rooster remains next door.
We loved being just a bit outside of town, and enjoyed the close access to hiking trails and waterfalls. We thought the space was well laid out. It was nice to have two different entertainments spaces--the kids could play pool and watch a movie downstairs, while my husband and I watched our own upstairs.. And, the hot tub was a great treat on the cooler days.
As a busy mom who doesn't often get to sleep in. I had high hopes for my summer vacation, and unfortunately, even with ear plugs, that was not an option here. We chose to focus on the good and the fun, but that was definitely a disappointment!
